I wrote this a while back for a client. Their previous attempts to market to this segment produced Zero results. This little lead-gen letter not only produced leads (a respectable 1% response and some big $250,000 - $500,000 a year accounts), but several of the prospects called in crying. Yep, crying! Great letter. Only 462 words! No headline! Very refreshing. Nice use of empathy and conveying how he used to be in the same difficult situation the prospect is in now. That and the overall simplicity of the letter helped create the trust that caused those people to call in (and cry).

Awesome letter. I love how you relate the specific painful experiences to the prospect.
I also like how you came skillfully out of the gate with some proof… qualified yourself, then dug into those tender spots by relating.
